Qualifications
- Languages: Proficiency in English required
- Education: Degree in Accounting from a recognized institution
- Experience: Minimum of three years in progressively responsible accounting roles
Physical Requirements

Additional Requirements
- Recognized Canadian professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA), preferably in the public sector
- Experience with capital or project accounting and familiarity with financial systems like SAP
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, reporting requirements, and practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial information for non-financial staff
- Proficiency with Excel and Google Suite
- Experience preparing complex financial statements and reports
- Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with all levels of management and staff

Responsibilities
- Provide technical and professional accounting advice, guiding departments on financial policies and procedures
- Maintain the General Ledger, including preparing, researching, and managing journal entries, reconciliations, and funding analysis
- Manage the Fixed Asset System, ensuring financial integrity and adherence to capitalization rules
- Prepare and organize year-end working papers, handle departmental financial statement preparation, and perform related year-end duties
