Requirements:
- Languages: Proficiency in English is required.
- Education: Standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate are needed.
- Experience: 1 to 7 months of relevant experience is required.
Eligibility:
- Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and temporary foreign workers in Canada are eligible.
- International candidates without a valid Canadian work permit may also apply.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate children’s development to create customized learning plans, engage in storytelling, assist early childhood educators with programs that support physical, cognitive, emotional, and social growth, and guide children in creative expression through various activities.
- Provide care for infants and toddlers, including bathing, diapering, and feeding. Assist with housekeeping and cooking tasks, maintain daycare equipment, prepare snacks, and arrange rooms or furniture for mealtimes and rest.
- Lead activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and taking children to local attractions. Observe children for potential learning or behavioral issues and prepare written observations for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
- Help early childhood educators or supervisors with record-keeping, encourage children in crafts and other activities, and discuss children’s progress and challenges at staff meetings.
- Attend staff meetings to review children’s progress and address any issues.
